留学申请书英文范文 第八篇

Dear sir / madam,

xxxAll I know about leadership I learned from . . .xxx What items could a person use to describe leadership qualities?

Inspired by the student council advisors at my high school.

Student council was a big part of my life in high school. I have participated in it since my frst year of high school. When I frst joined, I was quiet, na?ve, and unwilling to participate in many activities. I was scared to meet new people and afraid to apply myself. This all began to change. Half way through my frst year in student council, one of the advisors can up to me and asked why I did not participate that much. I did not have an answer for her and did not know how to respond. After this, I began to think of an answer. I became frustrated and decided to change. I started to show up at events and had a great time. I realized I loved this and wanted to start leading these activities. In my sophomore, junior, and now my senior year of high school, I asserted myself and took on a strong leadership role in student council. I did not fgure out the answer to why I was so reserved until this year with the help of this question.

When I looked up leadership in the dictionary, it said that it was the capacity to lead and the act or instance of leading. These are two very broad defnitions of leadership. Many people have different notions of what this word actually means. When I was challenged to use different items to describe what leadership actually is, I thought this was going to be a hard and obnoxious task. What could I learn from comparing leadership to a stuffed animal or a rubber chicken? But when I sat down to come up with a couple of answers, I realized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a person wants.

All I know about leadership I learned from a calculator. A calculator can add everything together to come up with the best answer. It can delet e what is unnecessary and only include what is important. It can solve any type of problem. These are all important equalities a leader has to have. A leader has to be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible plan. Leaders have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. They have to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues.

All I know about leadership I learned from a ball. A ball is able to bounce back up after it is dropped. It is round and has no creases. A ball can be thrown back and forth to different people. All of these qualities are also leadership qualities. A leader has to be ready for every situation that is thrown at him or her. He or she has to be able to bounce back from any setbacks and never dwell on the past. Leaders have to exhibit many qualities and never be closed-minded about a situation. A leader must be able to delegate when he or she cannot get the work done. They have to trust everyone they lead to be able to xxxcatch the ballxxx and keep a project rolling.

This activity made me realize that being a leader is so much more than just having authority and having the ability to take control of a situation. A leader has to be trusting of all the people he or she leads and, leaders must be able to combine ideas into one encompassing idea. They cannot sit in the background and watch events happen; they have to jump in and be involved. They should not delegate all their responsibilities away.

Leadership is more than what the dictionary says it is.

I learned through all of this that I have many of these qualities.

I have the ability to solve problems, lead through adversity, and be versatile. From answering this question, I realized that I could lead effectively, even if my leadership style is different from other individuals. When I joined student council in my frst year of high school, I did not have these qualities because I was never put into a situation where I had to lead. I was too reserved to try. When I tried, I learned that I could succeed in this. I did not realize until I answered this question about leadership. I was never able to see that being a leader is not just about taking control of a group and telling everyone what to When I was a freshman, I thought leadership was this. I did not know that did not have to be forceful and strict. I stereotyped a leader then. Thisis where I went wrong. A leader is about being yourself and never letting anyone change you. I thought I had to change to be a good leaderOnly when I expanded my comfort zone did I realize this was not trueIt only took three years and a silly question/game to fgure this out.

Yours sincerely,

It has come to my attention that our nations, and nations like ours, havelong been plagued by a mysterious occurrence. An occurrence that is asperplexing as it is frustrating, and as baffling as it is widespread, a problemthat finds its origins at the very foot of our society. The problem of which Ispeak is none other than “The Orphan Sock Enigma,” the constant disappearance ofindividual socks during the laundering process. It is a problem familiar to allof us, and also one to which we have unwillingly admitted defeat.

I recently decided that this puzzle had remained unsolved for too long, andresolved to find an explanation. (In the grand tradition of science, I refusedto be discouraged by the basic irrelevance of my cause.) But the truth that Iuncovered is more shocking and fantastic than I could have ever imagined. Myprocedures, observations, and conclusions are as follows:

First, to verify that the problem exists, experimental and control loads oflaundry were completely processed (put through the washer and dryer). In thexperimental load (load with socks), by the end of the process, some socks werelost. But in the control load (load without socks), no socks were lost. Thus theproblem was verified.

Next the progress of a load of socks was carefully monitored. The resultsindicated that sock disappearance occurs during the period of time when the loadis in the dryer. Following this conclusion, a literature search was done and avery significant fact was uncovered: there is no mention of socks disappearingin dryers before the invention of dryers in the 1920s. All evidence clearlypointed to the dryer. And it is there that I would find the answer to theenigma.

Then, the actual experiment was done. In four separate trials, a number ofsocks (ten socks, or five pairs) were put through a normal drying cycle. Thetypes of socks tested were selected by the highly accurate Harvey-AllmanPrinciple Hierarchy and Zero Alternative Reduction Dimension.

In a highly competitive environment, the ability to create competitiveedges over one's adversaries and to achieve ultimate victory in fiercecompetitions depends not so much on materials resources as on the mental factorsof intelligence and concepts. Those concepts that can lead to new visions andperspectives and those approaches that can effectively solve problems will havethe greatest value. The overriding factor which ensures the of new concepts and gives rise to effective approaches ismanagement. As a branch of applied science, the science of management hascrucial value not only for developing countries like China which are makinguttermost efforts to catch up with the developed countries, but also for theleading multinational giants in the developed countries themselves. For a personlike me who has decided to pursue marketing management as my career objective,to sharpen my intellectual caliber, to understand the essence of management andto grasp important skills of management have become my greatest aspiration.

As a Master's student specializing in marketing and enterprise strategies,I am very proud to report that I have made some encouraging . Of the two research papers that I wrote concerning of enterprises-Enterprise Strategic Alliance Based on ResourceComplementarity and The Strategic Orientation and Countermeasures for ChineseEnterprises in International Operations in the New Millennium, the former hasbeen published by Economic Tribune in Sept. 20__ and the latter has beenaccepted for publication by China Economists in Feb. 20__. These two researchpapers are the fruition of my active involvement in a research project namedStudy on Chinese Enterprises' Cooperation-Competition Models inHyper-Competitive Conditions, which is sponsored by China State Natural ScienceFoundation (Foundation Project No. 70140132)。 Another paper entitled BrandMarketing: A Competitive Mode on a Higher Level in Modern Economics has beenpublished by Contemporary Finance & Economics in November this year. Thoseresearch achievements can unmistakably indicate my tremendous potential toperform much more ambitious researches in my future degree program and I amdetermined to develop this potential to the fullest extent.

I completed my four-year systematic studies in Engineering and ManagementScience as an undergraduate at the School of Economics and Management, BeijingUniversity of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It is precisely this that has reinforced my determination to pursue marketing management asmy lifelong career. Although as an undergraduate my understanding of somecourses cannot be described as profound (some might even be said to be rathersuperficial), my learning of those courses nevertheless widened my ken ofknowledge and broadened my vision.

In order to further enrich myself, I availed myself of every opportunity ofacademic exchange both on campus and off campus. I shuttled among PekingUniversity, Central Finance and Economics University, and China RenminUniversity on my bicycle in order to attend lectures delivered by the country'sleading scholars and entrepreneurs. Those lectures constituted an importantsupplement to my in-class training because they were immediately connected withthe realities of Chinese society. I also benefited importantly from myextracurricular activities. As minister of the Department of Social Practices ofthe School's Students Union, I planned and organized the School's Festival ofthe Art of Management. I also canvassed Pepsi Company to sponsor ouruniversity's basketball league match. In launching those activities, I improvedmy organizational and managerial skills. In retrospection, my was most strengthened by my self-conscious attention to various appliedsubjects-higher mathematics, statistics and probability, linear algebra, operations research, etc. It can be said that my undergraduate education (inwhich my overall scholastic performance ranked top 4th in my class consisting of30 students) enabled me to make some basic preparations in theoretical knowledgeand in the application of mathematical tools.

From Sept. 1998 to April 20__, my employment with Hisense Group in QingDaoCity, Shandong Province (one of the largest manufacturers of in China) was a major opportunity to practice what I had learned. Thesecond year I joined the Group, the most fierce price warfare happened toChina's electrical appliances industry. Manufacturers reduced the prices oftheir products to unprecedented low levels in order to maximize their marketshare. As an act of market competition, the Marketing Department where I workedlaunched Traveling Expositions of Hisense Products. As one of the four keypersonnel of the department, I planned and organized a series of exhibitions inmost major cities in China. Our one-year efforts achieved remarkable marketeffects. In Shijiazhuan City, for instance, of a total of 30 brands, our salesof televisions and air conditioners accounted for 24% and 18% respectively in20__. In that year's performance evaluation, I was awarded the Group's ModelEmployee.

My understanding of marketing was enriched and modified by my 2-yearpractical work experience. To me, marketing was not merely composed of suchelements as product designing, promotion through advertising, pricing models, and distribution channels. It also encompassed the analysis of the behavior bothof your competitors and of consumers, studies in organization behavior, brandmanagement, and decision-makings. Believing that a more systematic educationwould contribute to a more successful career, I went back to my alma mater inSeptember 20__ and went on with a Master's program in Engineering and ManagementScience in order to gain knowledge on a higher professional level, to follow themost updated academic information, and to improve my managerial caliber.

Backed by my work experience, my academic focus became better-defined and Iwas more self-motivated in my studies. With a comprehensive coursework coveringadvanced mathematical planning, decision-making strategies, , and fuzzy mathematics, I achieved obvious improvement in and in the application of tools. I developed broader perspectives andwas able to conduct my research from more advanced professional levels. Mythesis, entitled A Study of Enterprises' Strategic Alliances Based on anAnalysis of Resource Complementarity, presented a wholly novel explanation ofcorporate alliances from the perspective of resource integration, a perspectivewhich differed fundamentally from the conventional view held by most scholarswhich explained the necessity and justification of corporate alliance from theangle of transaction cost and value chain.

Instead of feeling contented with my high GPA for the Master's program(), I have come to realize how much there is still for me to learn in thefield of management, especially in marketing. Most universities in China treatmarketing purely as a theoretical course, with neither case analysis noropportunities for students to practice the theories they have learned. In termsof curriculum, studies in marketing psychology and individual behavior havehardly been undertaken. Moreover, the lack of analytical tools has resulted ininsufficient analysis of the market feedback. Realizing that such deficienciescan scarcely be overcome within a short period of time, I believe that a moresuccessful career must be pursued through a . program outside China, ideallyin a first-rate university in the United States.

With my undergraduate and graduate background in engineering and managementscience, I would like to focus on one of the following areas in your : a. marketing management; b. behavioral approaches to marketing orconsumer behavior; and c. channels of distribution. I have also drawn up mytentative career objective. I will complete my doctoral program by researches and carrying out some specific projects. After obtaining mydegree, I will seek some teaching experiences in an American university whilecontinuing with advanced researches on the latest research topics. In this way Ican keep developing my academic aptitudes. After accumulating sufficientteaching and research experience, I will seek a teaching position in aprestigious university in China where I will share with my future students andcolleagues my research findings and the knowledge I have acquired in the UnitedStates. I hope to develop myself ultimately into a leading specialist inmarketing and management who can contribute to bringing Chinese scholarship inthis field onto a more advanced level.

CMU's . program in computer science is heavily integrated with researchactivities and is designed to nurture people with raw talent and intellect in anenvironment which permits them thorough immersion in research and program promises to produce well-educated researchers and future leaders incomputer science. I am very excited over this wonderful vision because such aprogram offers me a basis to translate my dreams into realities. Without such aprogram, many of my dreams will remain mere fantasies.

Dear Professor

I am a student, graduated from BaoYang middle school, Nanning, GuangXiautonomous region, in 20__. I am still studying in high school now, because Iwas not enrolled by the ideal university last year. Recently, I have a dream tostudy abroad. Then I search online and find that it is more convenient andsuitable for me to go to New Zealand for study.

First, New Zealand is a multicultural country, which has the most advancededucation in the world. Second, the tuition is lower than other countries’,which I think is mo

re reasonable for me. Finally, the climate of New Zealand is similar withthe climate of the South of China. Considering above reasons, I told my parentsmy plan on going to New Zealand for study, and my parent agreed with me.

As a girl, I like preschool education since I was young. Nowadays, Chineseparents, who want their children to get better education, pay more attention topreschool education. If I study specialized curriculums on preschool education,I will go back China and work hard on preschool education after leavingcollege.

My plan is as follows: first, I plan to study English in language institutefor about a half year in New Zealand. Then, I will study specialized curriculumson preschool education.

I believe I have the ability of study abroad, because I have finished allhigh school curriculums. Besides, my parents both have job and have rich income,so they will support me to finish my study. After finishing my study, I willreturn to my homeland and work on preschool education, so as to realize my lifevalue.

Dear sir / madam,

Due to the comprehensiveness of Chinas reform and open policies, economics plays an increasingly important role in the development of its global position. Though more and more companies built, management of companies cannot catch up with the development of the companies. Management is a burgeoning field in China, so I hope I can acquire more modern knowledge on management in England.

The roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to my childhood. My father was among the first of Chinas new breed of modern entrepreneurs. As a young girl, it was inspirational hearing about his business ventures, and meeting the varied and interesting circle of entrepreneurs. My mother was also involved in business as an accountant, helping him with simple calculations. And so it was early in my life that I hoped I, also, would someday be able to enter the realm of business. With the time of growing up, I preferred reading books to satisfy my curiosity. I never ceased to contemplate over the questions I encountered. Subjects on business and management became a special fascination to me and my knowledge of psychology as well as interest in this field was increasing rapidly. As a high school student in China, I had to concentrate on the College Entrance Examination (CEE), even so, books not related to the exams were never excluded from my life. Unfortunately when sitting in the exam in June, 2001, I was so nervous that I didnt score well in the CEE exam. I enrolled in the department of Com*r Science in Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Any attempt to persuade myself to focus on my major turned out to be a failure at the beginning of my college life. After several terms, I realized that I would never be interested in being a programmer or an engineer. At that moment, I lost my direction and objectives. My persistence in reading saved me from the dark situation. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed reading the books included Encyclopedia American, and some books about management by Peter . I began to notice something interesting: Why some companies can produce more than others? Why some company can sell more than others? Why some companies can build up but others cannot when facing the same difficulties? With the questions in my mind, I started to read many relevant books. I was lucky to read the book Jack: Straight from the Gutby Jack Welch, in Which John A. Byrne makes a clear illustration that the management is important for a company. When I was a junior, I ran a bookshop by myself near my school. I should manage not only the finance in the shop but also the employees in my shop even made some strategies to enlarge the business in my shop to hold on the run the shop. From this, my interpersonal skills and the capacity in business has been greatly developed, definitely I was increasingly interested in what I was doing. By December, 2003, I had finally determined to take business management as my career instead of IT.

To accumulate more relevant knowledge, I strived to gain more practical work experience in some big companies. Fortunately, as a senior, I began by conducting an internship in the Architecture Company in Zhejiang Province. Over six months, I worked as an assistant of the manager to harmonize the relationship between the different departments in this company and to draft some management system, which broadened my perspective of management conditions and business performance in different industries. The experience showed me that management is much more important than that of I thought in big companies. After graduation, I continued my work in this company. In May, 2005, the company offered me an opportunity to participate in an training program held by a famous management school. Through in-depth discussions with teachers and students in the classes, they all encouraged me to pursue my future career in management field because of my intellectual ability and the brand new ideas I mentioned. During the short period of training, I realized that pursuing a higher degree in management is a wise choice for me now. Lancaster, with its excellence in management, represents the perfect fit for my needs. In your challenging environment, I can build the required foundation of knowledge related to management to achieve my goals. I am firmly convinced that your admission will be my first step of success. With this in mind, I hereby submit my application, and await your favorable re*.

Program: 20th Century American Literature

“The apparition of these faces in the crowds: /Petals on a wet, blackbough.” My first reaction on reading Ezra Pound's 1916 poem In a Station of theMetro was that of outrage. Is it a poem by any definition? If it is a poem, howis it to be interpreted and understood? And finally, what are the implicationsthat this poem has produced for the twentieth- century American literature?

My initial bewilderment subsided as I realized that there must a raisond'etre behind this apparently bizarre literary phenomenon. What I should do isto put this poem into the context of the American literary evolution andliterary history. At least, the poem raises an important challenge. It requiresme to understand some of the crucial changes that must be happening around theturn of the last century.

My subsequent studies indicate that this poem represents part of the largerliterary movement known as Imagism, which included such theorists andpractitioners as T. E. Hume, Hilda Doolittle, Amy Lowell, Ezra Pound, etc. Themovement was a direct reaction to the late Victorian poetry, which had becomeextremely artificial, emptily “rhetorical” and “ornamental”。 To address suchproblems, it was necessary to loosen the metrical pattern and bring it backcloser to the rhythms of ordinary speech. Consequently, the “imagist” movementhad a great deal to do with promoting experiments with free verse, advocatingamong many creeds the need “to allow absolute freedom in the choice of subject”and “to produce poetry that is hard and clear, never blurred nor indefinite.”When Archibald MacLeish said in his Ars Poetica (1926) that “A poem should notmean / But be”, he had similar concerns in his mind. Imagism, minor as it is asa literary movement, triggered important changes in literary criticism, introducing the notion of internal studies as embodied by New Criticism tosubstitute the conventional critical practices.

The foregoing incident is but one instance that happened in my study ofliterature. For a Chinese student like me, it has at least two . First, a literary work must not be treated in isolation. Itinteracts with what is written before it and after it and this is one way in which we may add to our interpretation. Second, it isimportant to be acquainted with relevant literary theories when interpreting agiven literary work.

A student majoring in English (& International Trade) at the EnglishDepartment of _ University, I grew increasingly interested in literature duringthe second half of my undergraduate program. Of course, I was trained to be astudent of English language in the first place and as such I received thestandard academic training typical of a student of English major. For the firsttwo years, I primarily had intensive trainings in basic English language skillsby attending courses in advanced listening, writing, reading and oralcommunication. My distinguished academic performance is demonstrated by the fourconsecutive first-class and second-class scholarships I won from 1999 to 20__, I was awarded the second prize in the campus-wide English compositioncontest and in 20__ the first prize in the translation contest. Anotherindicator of my scholastic achievements is the honor of Outstanding Graduate of_Province that I received by the time I completed my undergraduate program.

I started reading English novels as soon as I began my . But I primarily used it as a way to increase my vocabulary and toimprove my reading comprehension. Since the second year in my , our curriculum included five major courses related to Anglo-Americanliterature and culture: Selected Readings in English Literature, SelectedReadings in American Literature, Introduction to European Culture, The Historyof English and American Literature, Selected Readings in English & AmericanFictions. Those courses provided me with a cultural and historical frameworkwith which to understand Anglo-American literature and to know . I grew familiar with major authors and works in British andAmerican literature and gained tentative knowledge of western criticalapproaches. Books like Literary Theory—An Introduction by Terry Eagleton and20th Literary Criticism edited by David Lodge proved somewhat esoteric to me,but they allowed me to realize that there are important critical approaches verydifferent from those in Chinese literature and different from conventional onesin western literature itself.

My defining interest in British and American Literature led me to writeabout T. S. Eliot and his poetry in my thesis Dull Roots Stirred by the SpringRain—Meaning Through Imagery in T. S. Eliot's “Waste Land”(available uponrequest)。 In this thesis, I examined different groups of imagery that T. employed to externalize his central ideas and emotions. I also analyzedthe theoretical justifications for his virtually excessive use of imagery bytracing it to his theory of “Objective Correlative” that he proposed in Hamletand His Problems, a critical essay contained in The Sacred Wood (1920)。

In an extracurricular event, students in our department put onShakespeare's drama Romeo and Juliet and I was the performer-director. Based onmy own understanding of the play, I changed its tragic ending and made it ahappy one by allowing the hero and the heroine to be resurrected and reunited. Ibelieve that a love of such intensity should be fulfilled, otherwise it would betoo pathetic.

In the last semester of my undergraduate program, I was recruited by myuniversity to teach the course Appreciation of American Literature to studentsof non-English major. By applying my computer skills, I developed a series ofcourseware, covering different periods of American literature and illustrated bygraphics and diagrams to make an otherwise difficult course interesting and easyto understand.

Nevertheless I am fully aware that my knowledge of American literature isfar from sufficient. I need to receive more advanced education for the sake of abetter career development. Therefore I plan to apply for a Graduate program inEnglish at the University of _, concentrating on modern and contemporaryAmerican literature. Your program is nationally recognized (listed as among thetop 10 in _ according to _) and it attacks me for its quality, small size andclose mentorship. I am interested in your well-designed curriculum whoseContemporary American Literature, American Literary History, Special Topics inAmerican Literature, American Literature 1865-1914, 1914-1960. Among your 13professors, I would like to receive instructions from _, _, _. _, and _. Ibelieve I am well-prepared and genuinely motivated for your program, which willteach me the knowledge and expertise nowhere to be sought in my own country.

Dear xx,

My motivation to study Accounting /Information Business at degree leveldevelops from my enjoyment from the single Business Studies at AS, currentlyconverted into a double award at A2. For me, Business Studies has proved to be afascinating subject, one that offers unlimited professional opportunities. Mycoursework case studies of both Norwich Union and Zenith Conservatories havegiven me an insight into complexities involved in operating such variedbusinesses, which I have found most intriguing, particularly those which relateto any financial considerations. Studying these business subjects at degreelevel will allow me to explore, in depth, a range of stimulating topics which I feel will give me a broader the theories and practices of management in different organizations inrelation to a Financial/Information environment

At school, I have participated in many fund raising events, open days andfurther education fairs. I regularly collect for Save the Children charity andhave subsequently become a member. Extra-curricular activities have incorporateddrama productions of Grease, the promotion of the School production of West SideStory as part of my Marketing unit and a heavy involvement in the preparationand publishing of our year 11 yearbook. These were demanding tasks, whichincluded budgeting our costs and materials to keep within a specific pricelimit. Although it was tough, I found it extremely satisfying, especially afterseeing the final results. My AS Business course has given me an understanding oforganizations as a whole, but experiences such as working on the Year book andduties in my part time job has allowed me to expand my knowledge andconsciousness of such financial topics. My ICT skills have developed highlythrough doing Vocational A levels, which I feel is invaluable in the Businessfield. The main thing I have learnt is that for all businesses, financialmatters are imperative; it is the core of any organization and beingknowledgeable in such issues attracts me

My communication skills have been enhanced through my part time employmentwith River Island. My promotion to weekend footwear manager is developingknowledge of financial record keeping, problem solving, meeting weekly salestargets and teamwork awareness, which I feel can be used and put into practicewhilst studying my preferred degree course

From the age of seven I attended a Bury St Edmunds Gymnastics club andcompeted at County, Regional and National levels. The feeling that I got when Iplayed a role within the team to gain the gold medal was amazing, equal to thefeeling when I achieved an individual gold medal as the top National aroundcompetitor. The realization of how important managing school work with a hobbywhich was not only physically demanding, but emotionally challenging has givenme a understanding of how to be realistic, a skill which is valuable whenplanning certain business strategies

I believe that during my sixth form studies I have grown in both confidenceand maturity, preparing me for the opportunity to study at university. My choiceof AS and A levels, along with other academic and personal achievements havehelped to consolidate and support my desire to study Business at degree level. Ibelieve that I will be fully committed to successfully completing Accountancy/Information Business related degree and relish in any opportunities which aregiven to help me achieve my aspirations in a business related career.

Dear xx,

My interest in young children first began my niece was born while my sisterwas still living with us. On a daily basis I would help care for the baby and Igained a large sense of my responsibility over those four years. Due to this, Ihave had a growing aspiration to work with young children. I feel that the firstfew years of a baby’s life need numerous positive role models. I have chosen toap* for this course because I consider myself to be a very maternal person andI believe this work to be enormously rewarding. Therefore I am expecting topursue a career with young children, preferably those aged from birth to 5years.

I undertook work experience for Liverpool City Council working in thePlanning and Building Control Department for a fortnight during March 2006. Icarried out general administration including, filing, photocopying, faxing andanswering phone calls. I feel this has developed my organisational andcommunication skills. In addition to this, I enhanced my com*r literacy byperforming data entry tasks, printing, using the intranet and typing experience has helped me to work independently and to use my initiativewhen required.

Throughout summer 2008 I worked as a volunteer at Sefton Resource Centrefor young people with disabilities. I worked with young children ranging fromages 3 to 8. I embarked on necessary training needed to care for the children inaccordance to their disability and age. During this experience my sense ofresponsibility increased. This was because I had to keep watch of at least twochildren who, because of their disability, had no real sense of danger. As wellas this, I feel that I now have a greater amount of empathy for the parentsbecause I had experienced only a few hours a week of their and their children’s need for dependency.教育学个人陈述#e#

I was assigned one child each day in which I was expected to take fullresponsibility for, this would be during trips to places such as the swimmingbaths and even when on site. Although I found this to be difficult on someoccasions, I enjoyed it and I formed a strong bond with a fair few of thechildren.

I am currently ap*ing for voluntary work experience for multiple othernurseries within Liverpool, those including The Little Georgian Day Nursery inthe City Centre and put in another application for Sefton Resource can remember, I have always had an understanding of those with cousin has moderate learning difficulties which has a large affect on hermental age; I frequently visit her and find that I enjoy being in her company asshe is a very optimistic person. Furthermore, one of my close friends previouslystarred in a documentary for * 3’s Beauty Season which was centred aroundsociety’s perceptions of beauty, as she has lived with Apert syndrome she hasexperienced many feelings of seclusion and situations of negativity, such asbullying. I found that these situations made her a stronger person and myfriends and I have helped her through her recovery from over 20 operations. Ihave high expectations and a large amount of respect for her and every otherperson who suffers from physical or mental disabilities. I was previously amember of Liverpool’s Team Oasis at Greenbank Sports Academy in which Iparticipated in performing arts activities, such as acting, dancing and this I gained confidence and was able to improve my speaking skills, whichhas helped me speak in front of large audiences with ease. This has proven to beuseful when doing a school assembly for years seven and eight explaining theimportance of recycling and keeping the environment green.

Dear x,

When I was doing internship at the renowned x Cosmetics Co. Ltd,I wasdee* impressed by the motto from x,the founder of the company-xxxBelieve inMiracle and Miracle will Indeed Happen.xxx At one point during my I was very frustrated because I found that, due to the lack ofeffective methodology of numerical *ysis, the teaching and the research ofeconomics in China lags far behind the international standard as represented bythe developed countries of the West. As a result, even though I am one of thetop students from the x University of Finance and Economics,I find it difficultfor me to really enter the true realm of economics study. Instead of dealing aheavy blow on me,this discovery motivated me to maximize my efforts in thestudy of mathematics and to ap* for an advanced degree program in statisticsat your well-respected university after having completed my . It is my conviction that,as long as I have sufficient confidencemyself and make sufficient efforts,I am bound to accomplish some form ofachievements in the field of statistics and make due contributions to thedevelopment of quantitative research in economics in the Chinese will indeed happen.

I specialized in accounting at the Accounting College of x University ofFinance and Economics. An undergraduate education in the specialty of accountingcovers knowledge in a wide range of fields-economics,management science, mathematics, statistics, and even sociology. While providing me with a solidacademic foundation, this education has enabled me to ferret out the areas thatcan really capture my interest. I have cherished a strong interest inmathematics since the primary school and developed my talents all the waythrough my middle and high school. But it is only through my undergraduate studythat I have come to realize the vital importance of mathematical approaches tothe study of economics. This very realization has further reinforced mydetermination to choose the career of an applied statistician in the such an objective,I have devoted special efforts to the study ofmathematics and statistics. Apart from intensive work in such compulsory coursesas Calculus,Linear Algebra,Theory of Probability,Statistics, and MathematicalStatistics,I have also attended a series of important optional coursesincluding Operational Research,Game Theory of Economics,Sampling Investigationand made full use of my spare time to learn the knowledge of statistics as muchas possible.

My undergraduate education should be described as very rewarding andfruitful. For the past three consecutive years,I have maintained top ranking inmy class and for two consecutive years I was given the xxxOutstanding StudentxxxAward, winning Level-A scholarships. I have demonstrated special aptitudes inmathematics and in English. My natural talents in mathematics and my dedicatedefforts to mathematics coursework have led my GPA in all the mathematics coursesto reach ,far exceeding the level of average students. In terms of Englishlanguage,I have also been well above average. In the first semester in 1999 Iwon the first prize at the xxxFreshmen Cupxxx English Listen Comprehension Contestand in 2001 I won the first prize in the English Contest for College Students inChina, the third prize at the Oral English Contest in x Province. Even though Ihave assumed various responsibilities for extracurricular activities of severalstudent organizations,I have still managed to perform well academically,a factthat should be attributed to my extra diligence, productive study methods, andeffective allocation of my time and energy. From the very outset of myundergraduate career,I made up my mind to fully exploit all the availableresources of my university to achieve comprehensive self-development and what Ihave achieved adequately testifies to the rewarding undergraduate life I havebeen living.

As a science that tries to discover inherent quantitative relationshipsamong different data and make rational statistical inferences by ap*ingrelevant theories and methodologies, statistics has been widely applied in themodern society, its impact penetrating into almost all fields of physical andsocial sciences. With China's reform toward the market economy and its accessioninto the WTO,statistics is becoming increasingly important in China's economiclife. The fact that the subject I am interested in will enjoy a broad prospectof application in China makes me very excited and confident concerning my futurestudy and career. In my proposed program,I will first try to consolidate myfoundation in statistics and then narrow down my interests to focus on TimeSeries Analysis and Statistic Inference.

I believe that to make rational inferences is one of the major functions ofstatistics. In many cases, pure statistical models or time series models canmake more precise inferences and predictions than theoretical models ofeconomics. The dilemma faced by modern economics in making predictions is one ofthe important reasons for me to choose statistics over economics as the area ofmy concentration. As an important aspect of statistical study and research,Iwill try to master one or two advanced statistical software such as Gauss andTSP. In addition,if possible,I wish to be a member of the research group of myfuture advisor under whose direction I can work on a full-length researchproject. It is equally desirable for me to do extensive internship at a specificgovernment organization or a local enterprise so that I can ap* my knowledgeof statistics and test its efficacy.

Apart from the sound undergraduate education that I have received, togetherwith my special achievements in mathematics and English,my creativity, perseverance, and my good logical thinking are three major factors of myimplicit confidence in my future performance, just as they have contributed tomy distinguished performance in the past over most of my peers. Meanwhile,I amalso very proud of my past extracurricular performance, which has my practical abilities beyond the mere coursework, like teamwork, organization and interpersonal communication. I served as student leader in theStudents Union, editor of the university student newspaper, member of AccountingStudy Group and Youth Volunteer Association. In 2003,I worked part-time asbeauty consultant at the renowned American x Cosmetics Company. An importantexperience directly related to my specialty is the internship I did in 2003 atthe Statistical Bureau of x City during which I worked on a city-wide populationsampling investigation, collecting and *yzing data and accumulating muchpractical statistical experience.

I prioritize on x University as the school for my Master's program instatistics because a careful study of your esteemed university shows me that itis a world famous university with a long academic tradition. In terms of theteaching and research of statistics,it plays a leading role not only inAmerican but also in international academia. Naturally it becomes my idealchoice. As a student of accounting I have built up a sufficient foundation instatistics and mathematics requisite for a graduate program in ,I sincerely wish that my application could be seriouslyconsidered.

Dear Sir,

I am a student, graduated from BaoYang middle school, Nanning, GuangXiautonomous region, in 20xx.

Letters of recommendation are a very important part of the application process. As colleges become more and more sought out from the increasing number of applicants each year, the need to stand out from the competition is also increasing. Below we will provide helpful information on how to write a college recommendation as well as advice for tailoring each letter.

A high school transcript can help tell an admissions office a lot about a candidate, but a college recommendation letter provides an opportunity for them to see the whole person. While recommendation letters are never a bad idea to include in the application, even if the college does not require one, many colleges do necessitate the inclusion of one. Here is some advice to keep in mind when writing a college recommendation letter:

Know the candidate - it may sound obvious, but it is important that you know the candidate well. After all, how can you write a college recommendation letter for a someone you know little about? Recommendations written for candidates with a vague familiarity are often identifiable and can do more harm than good.

How you know the candidate - when you write a college recommendation letter, make sure to include how you know the candidate as well as the length of time you have known that person.

Provide relevant information - be sure to find out the purpose of the recommendation so as to provide relevant information about the candidate and his or her specific qualifications. If the recommendation is to supplement an application, discuss how that person is an appropriate candidate for the college he or she is ap*ing to. Despite its purpose, however, the overall goal of a college recommendation letter is to attest to the capabilities and character of the candidate.

Obtain a rsum - another tip on how to write a collage recommendation letter is to first obtain the student's rsum with a listing of his or her GPA, activities, awards, leadership roles, community service, employment experience and special skills. The more information you have about a particular candidate, the more constructive your recommendation can be.

Personalize the letter - to help make the letter more personal, before writing a college recommendation letter, it is important to determine the person to whom the letter should be addressed. If the student is unaware of the name, the letter may begin xxxDear Selection Commi*.xxx

Proofread the letter - one of the most important tips on how to write a college recommendation letter is making sure to proofread it when finished. A letter containing grammatical errors will appear unprofessional and may leave a negative impression.

Mailing the letter - establish with the student whether the recommendation letter must be mailed in an official envelope from your institution, or if it can be included with the application. If it is to accompany the application, return the letter to the candidate in a sealed envelope.

Determine the deadline - double-check with the student as to the deadline of the college recommendation letter. Ideally, you will be given an adequate amount of time to complete a positive, detailed letter, however, the most important detail is that it is received before the application deadline.

Save the letter - when you have finished writing a recommendation, be sure to save it in order to help make writing the next college recommendation letter easier. The student will likely be ap*ing to more than one school and may ask that you write a separate recommendation for each one. Although it is important that each letter is tailored to the application at hand, select information can be recycled for multiple letters. It is more convenient to tailor the original passage than to repetitively recollect the advice on how to write a college recommendation.

What Colleges Really Want

Colleges place a large emphasis on a student's academic ability because what is accomplished in high school is the strongest predictor of their academic success in college. What colleges really want, however, is a win-win situation. They want to admit students who will thrive at their institution, not only for the student's benefit, but for their own as well. As more and more students become college-bound, colleges and universities will become increasingly selective, placing more emphasis on the ability to know how to write a college recommendation letter.

As a teacher, counselor, employer or personal acquaintance of a college-bound teen, you may at some point receive a request for help in writing a college recommendation letter. These students are not only placing their trust in you, they are putting you in the unique position to make an impact on whether or not they are admitted to their college of choice. Following this advice on how to write a college recommendation will help to ensure a professional letter and give your candidate a greater likelihood of being accepted into his or her college of choice.

To live a meaningful life everyday; to continually pursue my predetermined worthwhile goals. -My view of life.

Could I put myself in the life-threatening working environment? Could I sacrifice my life for the benefits of others? Some people may laugh at my crazy question. To me, that is a serious question I have come a long way to find my answer. “I am not sure whether it is worth to answer”; “What is the true meaning of that question?”

When I was a young child, I watched a soap opera that was about court. I was dee* impressed by the judge’s calmness and the lawyer’s eloquence and resource that were showed in this opera. From then on, I hoped to study law some day. Fortunately, I performed well in entrance examination and got enrolled into xx University. Then I chose law as my major without hesitation. At university, I studied hard and got GPA . What’s more, I broadly read all kinds of books, including philosophy, history etc. My teachers’ instruction strengthened my understanding of law and makes me understand the significance of law to a country. From my studies, I had a lot of fun and got more interested in law. Moreover, I actively participated in practice in holidays from common company to law firm and tried to ap* the theory I had learned into practice.

This summer, I had my internship in counselor department in xxx Group Co Ltd which was involved in a business contract dispute, which was submitted to China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission for arbitration. As a representative of the requested applicant, I took part in the evidence collection in the early arbitration stage and clearly explained why the 5% balance of goods was not paid on time. After knowing the whole case, I visited my teacher, an Arbitration Law professor, and listened to her opinions. Realizing the counterpart didn’t completely implement their contract duty, I gave reasons as follows: First, the counterpart company didn’t mention bearing issue, which caused that the delivered machines couldn’t be put into the plant because of the disqualification of workshop. Thus overhaul was necessary, which delayed production and resulted loss. Based on these reasons, the counterpart didn’t completely carry out its duty, so our party did not pay the balance on time. During this time, I found out the evidence and pictures that attested counterpart did not give reasonable suggestion and service, and made a statement in the court. Finally, the arbitration turned out that counterpart compensated our loss, in which the arbiters invoked the reasons that I stated. They had a panel made up of 3 lawyers and 5 company representatives as agents while we just had 3 persons—two lawyers and me. Under such condition, I was able to cooperate with them and clearly stated my opinions without any nervousness, which got their respect. This matter greatly inspired my enthusiasm on study.

In addition, I took part in the contact draft in several companies. In the process, when I met a lot of problems, I often turned to my teachers for help, which made good impression on them. As I cherished each practice, I studied my specialty and English hard. With effective study method and diligence, I did well both in English and law, which helped me a lot to get scholarship every year. On the other hand, my practice inspired me to study. In practice, I exercised my legal knowledge. I also realize the big gap between theory and its application—sometimes I have master the rules but I didn’t know how to use it in actual case. My practice experiences have not only strengthened what I learned but have supplied new knowledge for me, which is good for my future study and career.

In my study and practice, I admired outstanding lawyers’ eloquence and jumping thinking more and more. However, in China, most of lawyers come from theory study and those who can perform well in practice are insufficient. Moreover, after the China’s entrance to WTO, there are a lot of problems with Chinese law. I think, my internship experience is not enough. In practice, I could combine substantive law with procedural law to *yze case, but I still feel my theoretical foundation is not solid enough. What’s more, comparably speaking, the chances that I have to initiatively study and practice are not a lot. Thereby, I am eager to study further abroad to know more about foreign law, thoughts and lawyer career so that I am able to stand out in fierce competition.
